Bokrijk

Fancy a  a magical trip to 1912?  You really don’t have to travel far.  Just visit the open air museum of Bokrijk. Here you land in the middle of a fascinating world. Before you know it you are part of the past. One moment you are on the Haspengauw square where the church bells are ringing, the pastor is preaching, the constable is on patrol and the farmers are working on the farm.  The next minute you are in the world of the 5e Boog in de Kempen or you learn the long forgotten crafts from the East- and West Flanders regions 3 village districts, 1 magical world, 1000 ways to discover them. In Bokrijk, every day brings something new, and even more during events days.  The interactive exhibition around ‘The Sixties’ is new.  You receive a passport from the 60s and assume the virtual identity of an insurance agent,  stewardess, guest worker etc. from this period. The domain is also an ideal setting for a healthy autumnal walk or a bike ride through the beautiful scenery, a visit to the free playground, or a nice meal and drink at one of the restaurants!

Opening hours

The Open-Air Museum is open from 10:00 to 18:00 from Tuesday to Sunday between 26 March and 23 October 2016.  Closed on Mondays and public holidays.

 

Park Molenheide is situated in the middle of Belgian nature.
